Correcting image magnification
If you’re going to use a wide-angle lens to shoot a subject that’s not far away, you need to be aware that the image will be dramatically magnified. Think about it: If you’re shooting something very close at hand, the camera is probably about the size of your eyeball. (See the sidebar “Levels of magnification.”)
If you want to use your camera’s wide-angle lens to capture something really close up, you need to shoot at the widest setting, and then zoom in to create a big, distorted picture. (See the section “Digital zoom vs. real zoom” later in this chapter.)
To correct image magnification, follow these steps:
1. **Make sure that your camera has a zoom control marked on the lens. (Expert photographers may see a setting for Image Zoom, Image Size, or Image Zooming.) Press the zoom lever up or down to select the level of magnification.**
The View Camera Settings dialog box appears.
2. **Select Correct Zoom from the Image Quality menu and then press Set.**
The image’s view appears correct. Note that a red X appears on the right of the lens to mark the location of the zoom control. Your camera zooms in or out, depending on what setting you selected.

This tutorial covers how to use Photoshop’s Brush tools.
For the Photoshop CS2 tutorials, use a brush size of 400%. Check out our CS2 Photoshop tutorials HERE
How to Use a Brush
Photoshop’s brush panel is located on the left side of the screen. You can resize the image window while this panel is open by clicking on the arrow next to the window frame.
The brush size slider varies from small to very big. You can also click on the large, floating thumbnail to add a brush, select one from the list, or adjust the brush size by typing an amount in the text field below the thumbnail.
When the brush is selected, you can use it to paint on the screen. An image will appear on the right side of the screen. This image is the “canvas” of the current drawing, and you can adjust the size of this canvas by clicking on the boundary of the canvas, then using the sizing slider below.
Paint with the brush. Depending on the painting technique used, the brush may do too much or too little, so use the Eraser (E) tool to gradually remove brush strokes. Then you can adjust the opacity of the image to see exactly what the brush has left behind.
When you are done using the brush, click the Alt button (Windows) or Escape (Mac), or the X key on your keyboard to close the brush panel, and return to the original image on the right.
Fill a Brush
You can also drag the mouse to draw a new brush shape and paint with it. You can adjust the size by clicking on the border of the brush thumbnail.
To reset the brush, double-click in the image window, or click on the Reset brush icon to the left of the thumbnail.
If a brush is selected, you can get a quick preview of what it will do by pressing F on the keyboard.
Some of Photoshop’s brushes do not work with the “alt” key — it will not work on an “alt” brush. To keep the “alt” key working, open the Brush tool itself and double-click on a brush without any other tool selected.
Insert Your Brush
You can drag the cursor over an image while in “Thumbnail” view to insert the brush, as shown above. A menu will appear below the cursor.
If you want to insert a brush by clicking on the color square at the left
